Our Unpublished Response Letter to South China Morning Post

Dear Friend,

The South China Morning Post (SCMP) has published a myriad of negative articles and news stories continually for several weeks concerning the post-elections events in the Islamic Republic of Iran that took place on 12th June 2009. The Consulate General of Iran in Hong Kong assumes that the SCMP practices professional journalism and that it would respect exchange of views, while adhering to the principles of impartiality in news coverage and analysis. The Consulate General of Iran has sent an open letter on June 29, 2009 to the editor of the SCMP in response to the published materials in that newspaper, requesting the publication of the letter in its entirety.
The SCMP has however refused to publish our letter. We have expressed our profound displeasure in another letter over the refusal by the SCMP to publish our views and opinions. We view their refusal to publish our response to their negative reporting as unprofessional and indeed partial.
We would like to put forward our views in order to counter the negative news published by the SCMP. We enclose a copy of the letters sent to the editor of the SCMP, hoping that you will spare some of your time in order to evaluate our view points expressed to the editor of the SCMP.
